Effective help to manage your problems

We all feel anxious or low sometimes; that is part of life. It may even stimulate us to take action for a necessary change.
However, Anxiety can become excessive and stop us living our lives to the full. Compulsive thoughts of dangers, checking everything many times, not daring to drive, fly, get out of a routine, leave the house, or even a constant worrying about everything can have a devastating effect on our lives. We may suffer from sleeplessness , panic attacks or physical symptoms.
This can be the result of a traumatic life event or a difficult childhood (see Trauma). Our mind and body is on a constant red alert for danger and we cannot relax, even if we know rationally that this is unnecessary.

Similarly, Depression can feel as irrational. It is not simply a low mood because your life is not what you want it to be. Such a mood can spur you on to change that. Depression is different.
A depression can follow traumatic life events, but it can also exist if everything seems fine. Everything looks grey. Nothing gives any pleasure. Creativity may disappear, as everything seems to unravel. What is the point of getting up? You don't like waking to a new day.
You may feel ashamed of the irrationality of your feelings, and you may feel angry with yourself, but I know they are a very real problem. We may not be able to understand them rationally, but it would help if together we could make emotional sense of it. You do not need to be alone with this. Let me help you.

Whatever it is you need to talk about, feel free to discuss it with me. I have worked with depression, trauma, obsessive compulsions, eating disorders, anxiety, loneliness, recurring patterns of bad relationships, bereavement, addiction and many other problems you may be going through.
